Overseas Update Euroleague Semi-Final Matchups Loaded With WNBA Talent

How They Got Here:Yakin Dogu finished the regular season winning 10 of the last 11 games to post a 22-2 record, two games ahead of divison-rival Hatay to own first place. In the quarter-finals of the Euroleague Tournament, they swept Bourges two games to zero.

How They Got There:Dynamo Kursk won all their games during the regular season outside of their second regular season matchup with semi-finals foe, UMMC losing 102-62. Kursk however have steamrolled through the first two rounds of the Euroleague Tournament, sweeping both opponents by an average margin of victory of 29.8 PPG.

The Euroleague semifinals are set, and tip off on Friday. The two matchups are headlined by some of theWNBAs premier players, and should result in exciting competition. Sopron Basket (Hungary) vs. Yakin Dogu (Turkey), and UMMC (Russia) vs. Dynamo Kursk (Russia) all are playing for a chance to advance to the Euroleague Finals, and win the coveted Euroleague title.

How They Got There:UMMC edged out Dynamo Kursk for the regular season crown in the PBL, winning the tiebreaker by margin of victory. Headlined with some of the WNBAs best players, the Russian-powerhouse has gotten through the first two rounds of the Euroleague Tournament by sweeping their opponents by an average margin of victory of 28.3 PPG.

How They Got Here:Sopron Basket finished the regular season winning six of the last seven games to post an 18-2 record, losing the tie-break with division-rival Atomeromu (18-2) for first place. In the quarter-finals of the Euroleague Tournament, they beat Fenerbahce of Turkey two games to one.
