IPL 2018 Points Table Results Standings Team Ranking

With the energetic performance in IPL season 4, Royal Challengers Bangalore emerged as one of the best performer teams and achieved top position in the standings. Winning nine matches, RCB earned 19 points. Registering victories in equal number of matches, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings had a tough competition in grabbing 2nd place in the point table. CSK managed to secure the one with its maximum net run rate. MI retained the third rank. Kolkata Knight Riders was also among top four teams in the score table. Winning eight matches, KKR garnered 18 points and attained 4th rank in the table. Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals acquired 5th and sixth place in the point table. Deccan Chargers Hyderabad and Kochi Tuskers Kerala failed to perform well in the tournament and bagged 7th and 8th position, respectively. Pune Warriors India and Delhi Daredevils too didnt manage to clinch victories in enough matches and ended up holding bottom positions in IPL standings.

Under Rohit Sharmas captaincy, Mumbai Indians claimed victories in most of the games in tenth season of Indian Premier League. Winning ten matches, MI earned twenty points and topped IPL standings. Followed by David Warners Sunrisers Hyderabad at third place in point table, Rising Pune Supergiants won nine matches to earn 18 points. Led by Australian cricketer Steve Smith, Punes team grabbed 2nd place in the score table. Captained by left arm batsman Gautam Gambhir, Kolkata Knight Riders clinched fourth position in the point table. Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils grabbed fifth and sixth place, respectively. Gujarat Lions, which was the best performer team in IPL season 9, failed to maintain consistency in its performance and won only four matches in the tenth edition of IPL. Royal Challengers Bangalore showcased poorest performance in the league and ended up acquiring bottom position in the point table. Led by Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, RCB earned just seven points from three victories.

Gearing up with excellent performance, Delhi Daredevils secured first rank in the standings of IPL season 2. By sealing victories in ten matches, the team pocketed 20 points. Led by former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings grabbed 2nd position in the standings. CSK earned 17 points. Royal Challengers Bangalore boosted its overall performance and acquired third place in the points table. Deccan Chargers Hyderabad too showcased massive improvement in its performance by winning 7 matches and earned 14 points to attain 4th place in the same chart. Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals failed to make their name in the top four teams and ended up earning 14 and 13 points, respectively. Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders also couldnt win enough matches to get qualified for the playoffs. MI minted 11 points while SRK owned KKR garnered 7 points only.

Top four teams in the rankings are qualified for the playoff matches. Total four matches are played in playoff games. First match is played between the first rank holder and second rank holder. Winner of this 1st qualifier match gets a direct entry into the final game of IPL. Looser team still remains active in the tournament as it confronts with the winner of eliminator match in the 2nd qualifier game. Eliminator match is played between the third rank holder and fourth rank holder. Finally, the winning team of 2nd qualifier reaches into the final match to battle with the winner of first qualifier.

Led by Indian opener batsman Virender Sehwag, Delhi Daredevils showcased an astounding performance by winning 11 matches in the IPL tournament. The team grabbed first rank in the standings. Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians won equal number matches, but struggled for the 2nd place. However, KKR sealed the second position while MI remained at third one. By boosting overall performances in final stage of the league, Chennai Super Kings jumped to fourth place with 17 points. RCB too earned 17 points but lagged behind due to its poor net run rate. Kings XI Punjab endeavoured hard to acquire position in top four contenders, but ended up bagging sixth rank. Rajasthan Royals too suffered from similar crisis due to loosing maximum number of games and remained at 7th position in the point table. Deccan Chargers Hyderabad and Pune Warriors India once again failed to claim a good number of victories in the league and declined to bottom positions in the standings.

Sixth season of Indian Premier League was quite interesting as a tough competition was observed between the teams. Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians won eleven matches each. Low net run rate pushed MI to second place and MS Dhonis team bagged the top position. Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad too confronted hard for the 3rd and 4th place in the standings. With 20 points each, RR and SRH clinched third and fourth place, respectively. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab tried their best to grab significant rank in top four best performer teams, but failed to do so. RCB earned 18 points from 9 victories while KXIP garnered 16 points by winning eight matches. Kolkata Knight Riders performance dropped to poor level in the 6th edition of IPL. Led by Gautam Gambhir, KKR clinched seventh rank in the score table. Pune Warriors India and Delhi Daredevils as usual remained at bottom places with showing no improvement in their performances.

As per the IPL schedule, series of about fifty-sixty matches are played during the tenure of two months. Ranking of the teams is decided by considering the victories attained by every team. When the two teams earn equal points, their net run rate is taken into consideration and thus, their rank in IPL standings is decided. Each team plays around 14 to 16 matches throughout the series of T20 games. Team with highest number of points grabs the first position in points table while the one which looses maximum number of matches and earns lesser points lies at the bottom place in standings.

Mahendra Singh Dhons Chennai Super Kings left no stone unturned in once again grabbing the first rank. By winning nine games, CSK earned 18 points. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians competed with each other for the 2nd place. Winning equal number of matches, RCB and MI minted 16 points each. Due to good net run rate, RCB bagged second place in the table while MI remained at third one. Rajasthan Royals too earned sixteen points by winning eight matches, but its poor run rate didnt boost its rank above the third rank and the team ended up holding 4th rank in the standings. Performances of Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad wasnt up the mark in IPL season 8. Though both won equal number of matches, KKR earned one point more than that of SRH and achieved fifth position in the score table. By winning seven matches, SRH bagged sixth place in same chart. Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab ended up acquiring seventh and eighth ranks in the point table.

Winning 14 matches, Chennai Super Kings team garnered 16 points and grasped third place in the point table. Delhi Daredevils bagged fourth position by earning 15 points. Mumbai Indians raked in 14 points and remained at the sixth place in the score table. Owned by Hindi actor Shahrukh Khan, Kolkata Knight Riders held sixth position in the IPL standings while Royal Challengers Bangalore claimed seventh rank in the same chart. Deccan Chargers Hyderabad ended its IPL 1 journey with the poor performances throughout the tournament and pocketed eighth rank in the standings.

Delhi Daredevils improved its performance in the 8th ninth season of Indian Premier League, but failed to get entry into the playoff matches as those victories werent quite enough. Another new entrant Rising Pune Supergiants suffered huge loss during the series of matches. Led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the team lost ten matches and won only five games. RPS garnered 10 points from 5 victories. Kings XI Punjab ended its IPL journey grabbing bottom place with just four victories throughout the league. KXIP earned eight points from the 4 victories.

Showcasing immense growth in total performance, Sachin Tendulkar led Mumbai Indians hold first position in the point table of IPL 3. The team earned 20 points from ten victories. Deccan Chargers Hyderabad too continued to perform well in the third season of Indian Premier League and secured 2nd place by earning 16 points. MS Dhoni led CSK too maintained its good track record in the third edition of IPL and bagged 3rd place in standings. Earning 14 points each, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Daredevils and Rajasthan Royals faced tough competition to achieve the 4th position in top four teams. As RCB had maximum net run rate, it grabbed the fourth place to play the eliminators match. Rajasthan Royals performance declined drastically in IPL 3 and its rank too dropped to seventh position in the score table. Kings XI Punjab also couldnt perform well in the league and ended up grabbing bottom place by earning only 8 points.

Ameliorating the overall performance, Priti Zinta owned Kings XI Punjab secured first rank in the point table. KXIP earned 22 points from 11 victories. Followed by Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders bagged 2nd position with a good net run rate. CSK sealed third place while Mumbai Indians grabbed fourth position with 14 points. Rajasthan Royals too earned 14 points, but couldnt qualify for the playoffs. RR ended their IPL journey bagging fifth place in the score table. Sunrisers Hyderabad won six matches earned twelve points. Led by Australian cricketer David Warner, SRH sealed sixth place while Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore attained seventh position by earning 10 points from 5 victories. Delhi Daredevils ended up acquiring eighth position in the point table. The team could win only two matches throughout the series of T20 matches and remained at the bottom position with mere 4 points.
